Racing is at the heart of everything we do, race car preparation and competitive motorsport are the backbone of the company and every road car upgrade we develop starts on a race track in some form. We have three distinct yet interlinked operations; race car preparation for other teams, race car operations for other drivers and owners and our own Team Thorney Motorsport which races in a variety of race series both on track and offroad.

Thorney Motorsport are quite unique in the motor racing World in that as well as an established racing operation we also have an   extensive racing operation. Specialising in BMW and Vauxhall models   (although we are happy to work on any model for competition) our history   has been one of being the first to prepare and win in a variety of models and race series.

To date we have developed and built race cars from everything from the Production BMW Championship to the BTCC, we can prepare or run your own race car or offer an arrive and drive package for fully built and prepared cars. Historically we have specialised in sprint and endurance racing with Vauxhall Astra, Corsa, Insignia models and BMW's E30,46 and 92 M3 models.

We currently have M3 race cars in E36, E46 and E92 form racing here and abroad as well as two BTCC Insignia VXR-R's racing in the BTCC. Joining those are two Astra H VXR models in UK racing, a Corsa VXR and a new build for Time Attack.

Our current plans are split into road racing in the BTCC where we are concentrating on building Vauxhall Insignia VXR-R models for other teams and our off road racing operation where we are racing a Polaris XP900 in the Nora offroad series and an Arctic Cat Wildcat in the AWD Championship.

After racing the Vauxhall Astra for a number of years now we have a great amount of experience and knowledge in developing our race cars. Being very successful in doing so we have also developed a limited edition road car, the Astra VXR-R. In developing this car we have used our vast range of knowledge in setting the car up. This all comes from the research and development we have done with our own Vauxhall Astra race cars.
